Mahabs Trip

It all started when i had this dream of me going to Mahabs which was just a flash back of the trip i was in when i had come to Chennai for a visit from Bahrain where i was then doing my schooling. Got up from sleep realizing it was a dream and i felt really sad about it. Called up my friend who was fast asleep and asked him "U coming to Mahabalipuram??" and to my surprise he was far from being ready to go!! Left off to Mahabs and then went about exploring all the temples which were built almost 13 century's back!! The Shore temple was a retreat to watch which was built by the Pallavas in AD 642. I happened to also see the light house which was built by the Britishers in AD 1900, the structure was very well built that anyone would be surprised to know that this was built almost 110 years back! The temple on top of the mountain even though had proper routes we dint bother to take them, instead took a risky route which we also wanted to get a hold of the trekking part of the game. The trip last for only 5 hours but the exciting part was the thirst at which i wanted to make this trip possible only because of the dream i had seen that morning!! Hope to have similar trips soon!!

Yercaud Damaka

Great place to be on a weekend. 400kms off Chennai, hardly 6 hours ride by road it very much is a place to be on a weekend, stay over a day from the Traffic and Pollution of Chennai. The best part of the journey again was the sudden plan which i always love to have as far as trips are concerned. Started off at 5 in the morning, the 7 of us in search for peace and freedom from the hectic schedule in office and horrible climate of August in Chennai. Reached Yercaud at around 12.30 and checked into the cottage we had booked online. 2 huge rooms is what they gave, we were asking them to give us 1 room and all of us fitting inside the big room. The hotel officials did not allow us to do it but even though we paid for the 2 rooms we just accomodated in one room till we slept. Had fun inside the room doing some kind of gymnastic acts like wild dogs which we only came to know of the stupidity after the pics were out. Took lots of pics we always do and then slept for the night. Best part of the trip was accomodating all 7 of us inside 1 car and going through the town in search of food for breakfast. Left off for Chennai at 12pm and then reached the Hot city at 8pm. Awesome trip for a weekend and we had a blast.
